10,000 Maniacs and the Jon Lehrer Dance Company!

We played last weekend in Cleveland, OH at the Music Box Supper Club, which is a delightful venue. It’s always a great time. The Cleveland audience is one of the best. They really enjoy their music!

We also had the wonderful opportunity to perform with the JON LEHRER DANCE COMPANY in Buffalo, NY at the UB Center for the Arts. WOW! What an incredible show. 1,700 people on their feet and the Lehrer troop flying through the air. Amazing! We added a 3 piece string section and played a few songs from our recent release, TWICE TOLD TALES, and they danced to Because The Night, Gold, These Are Days, and More Than This. We also periscoped the show, so watch out for more of that. We are in discussions with Jon regarding more collaborations in the future. Stay tuned!

So Long Summer!

We’ve had a wonderful summer traveling around America. There are always great people to meet and fun sites to see, when there is time.
This summer we played in Manhattan, Amagensett and Clayton, NY. We got rained out in Woodstock, MD. What storm that was! We also played in Lisle, IL, Clarence, NY, Napa, Oakland and Lake Forest, CA, Park City UT (WHAT A CROWD!) and Scituate, Beverly, Greenfield and Cape Cod all in Massachusetts. It’s been great fun playing with founding member John Lombardo again. We’re also dragging Jamestown, NY native, Amanda Barton along for harmonies, violin and acoustic guitar playing. We look forward to a productive fall. We’ve been working on some live recordings and we recently purchased an in-ear monitor rig, finally! We have some cool gigs lined up including a few holiday shows in December. Our agent is booking shows for 2016! Thanks for all the support.

Record Release Party!

Join us Friday May 8, 2015 at Buffalo Iron Works in Buffalo, NY as we celebrate the release of our new album, Twice Told Tales. Old pal John Lombardo will be joining us on stage and we encourage the venue to #callaroofer.

We’ll play many songs from the new release along with deep cuts, early tracks, all the hits, and maybe a surprise or two. Bring your dancing shoes as this is a stand-up venue.

Record Release Surprise

We have been so excited for this day to come. It’s taken a year to get TWICE TOLD TALES in the can and we can’t wait for you to hear it. We played a special release show at Record Theater in Buffalo, NY to commemorate the release. We had a lot of friends stop by to enjoy the short concert. We signed many autographs and had great time. Early reviews of Twice Told Tales. What’s your review?

“Full of atmosphere, atmosphere and reported accessible sound on “Twice Told Tales” traditionals of the British Isles, the album will stand the test of time – not only because of the 10,000 MANIACS.” – Music-Scan, Germany

Delightful album…fun, bouncy…” – Exclusive Magazine

“Their new release,Twice Told Tales, is a collection of British Isles folk songs, but with a definite 10,000 Maniacs spin to them. sweet and pretty…catchy and fun tunes” – Pop Culture Beast

“While many of the songs on this new album are over a hundred years old, the 10,000 Maniacs easily turn them into modern folk/pop gems with a natural sound” – JPs Music Blog

“10.000 Maniacs are back on the right track! What 10,000 Maniacs does with these traditional songs is breathtaking: some songs are upbeat songs, others are more emotional heartbreaking versions.” – Keys & Chords, Belgium

“This album, if given the right exposure, may prove to be a meth amphetamine folk album, bringing many into its spell and addiction, I know I’m hooked. With no UK tour dates listed on their site, this will continue to be a fix until I can see them perform it live. “Twice Told Tales” is an album to buy and breathe in deep.” – Fatea, UK
